anne book review

Book review:

A wish in the city of Wells,

The Mary Ann book shows the life story of Mary Ann and how society had an impact on the life of people like her. I think the character drawing of Mary Ann throwing a teapot is very humorous way of portraying a serious incident. I showed this book to my brother and he said it had a layout that made it easy to understand for someone like him who hadn’t see the show and that the story was clear. I also shared the book with my dad. He said it was beautifully produced book. Dad’s favourite image is the name ‘Mary Ann’ spelt out on the washing line, as it had real impact on him as he got to see the show ‘Through the Front Door’. I also showed my Dad the rainbow picture and he really liked the effect.

I personally thought it was very abstract way at look at Mary Ann story which I loved.  It shows how we all have the power to create a world that we all like and belong in, like a rainbow slide into the future.  The book invites the reader to keep the story of Mary Ann in their hearts and share it in their own way in their community, which means that OpenStorytellers’ wish that Mary Ann will ‘not be forgotten’ is granted.
